TITLE: MARKETING CONTENT SPECIALIST - PART TIME
DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is responsible marketing work involving the writing, editing, and development of content for digital marketing campaigns.
Duties include working across various digital channels, from websites to emails to social media apps, and strategizing and adjusting content to meet the needs of the city's audience. Work involves collaborating on digital marketing initiatives with the Communications and Marketing Specialist and the Mayor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Public Relations Information Coordinator and the Mayor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creation of digital content.
Optimization of new and existing digital content.
Editing and ensuring adherence to a style guide, such as AP style, for consistency in digital content.
Creation of editorial calendar for short- and long-term planning to ensure deadlines and publications.
Publishing and promoting content.
Monitoring and analyzing content, including data analytics.
Preparation of content marketing plans.
Assists in the coordination and production of newsletters, brochures, calendars for special events.
Assists in the writing of news releases.
Assists in the coordination of outside printing projects, such as brochures and schedules.
Assists in the coordination and production of marketing videos, including videography and editing.
Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES
Knowledge of and experience with graphic design software, such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and GIMP, and digital marketing software, such as Mailchimp.
Strong knowledge and experience with online content strategy creation, with a focus on videography.
General understanding of data analytics.
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, reading and editing skills.
Good problem-solving, time management and strategic planning skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in marketing, English, communications or a related field, plus three years of digital marketing experience or equivalent demonstrated experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid Connecticut driver's license.
