Details About The Job
Location: Komoka, Ontario
The successful candidate will work with customers and the DLS team to service and install manure handling equipment.
This is a full-time position Monday – Friday working on equipment at various customer sites. We offer a total compensation package which includes competitive pay, comprehensive benefits and the opportunity for growth and advancement, come grow with us!
Once trained, there will be a requirement for this individual to be on call for emergency service, this would mean one night per week and one weekend each month.
The types of equipment one would support include screw press separation, centrifugal pumps, manure agitator and scrapers, process controls such as pressure, temperature, ultrasonic level sensors and pneumatic operated knife gate valves, piston pumps and gear boxes, and VFD and electric motors.
Job Duties
- Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards
- Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury
- Completion of necessary paperwork on time
- Install, repair and maintain dairy farm equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures
- Assemble piping systems
- Install mechanical equipment such as pumps and valves
- Operate forklift/telehandler and aerial lift equipment on occasion
- Perform maintenance welding
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Skills & Qualifications
- Good understanding of electronics, plumbing, pumps, hydraulics and augers
- Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Ability to work independently or as part of team and take ownership of assigned work
- Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done
- Ability to perform physical tasks the may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping
- Mechanical aptitude/ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment
- Maintenance welding experience
- Service Technician experience and/or background in the dairy industry would be an asset
- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
- Valid G driver’s license with a clean abstract
