BASIC PURPOSE:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer assists Operations in installing, improving, and maintaining of Manufacturing Processes and equipment to achieve sustainable processes in compliance with global WIKA standards and best practices. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will plan, design, set up, modify, optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes at WIKA.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

  • Develops, evaluates, improves and documents manufacturing processes.
  • Implements manufacturing processes to ensure highest quality through mistake proven equipment.
  • Analyzes operations and processes in order to propose cost justified improvements
  • Researches and analyzes best in class manufacturing technologies and recommends these technologies to WIKA
  • Leads and supports the development of Automation concepts for Productivity improvements
  • Handles equipment development/installation to further enhance the WIKA production system
  • Examines new equipment to ensure the highest quality at the best price
  • Creates benchmarking of manufacturing/best practice implementation from WIKA
  • Completes production capabilities studies
  • Designs/maintains production dies and calibration fixtures.
  • Drives Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving efforts to address and mitigate root causes.
  • Implements Process Improvements utilizing Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma concepts
  • Supports manufacturing to implement the vision established by the Operations group.
  • Supports Procurement & Engineering with knowledge base in manufacturing processes to improve overall cost performance on material and labor utilized
  • Performs ancillary duties as needed


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
  • Five years of related experience in manufacturing, process engineering and/or related fields required.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, telephone and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office package to include Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and PowerPoint is required.
  • CAD experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent Negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in all aspects of Continuous Improvement, including, but not limited to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous flow, 5s, etc.
  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
  • Strong mechanical proficiency preferably with working knowledge of CNC equipment, welding technology, and assembly / test equipment.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
