POSTION TITLE : MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

DEPARTMENT : Manufacturing Process Engineering

REPORTS TO : Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

HOURS/SCHEDULE : Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

HOURLY/SALARY STATUS : Salary/Exempt

POSITION OVERIVEW :

The Manufacturing Engineer shall support Hussey Seating Company manufacturing needs through research, design, and implementation of modified or new production processes. The successful candidate will provide solutions that deliver maximum economic and quality potential.

The function of the Manufacturing Engineer is to assist in the development and continuous improvement of Production processes, provide guidance to employees regarding process equipment and analyze production equipment performance and development plans to increase yield and productivity from under-performing manufacturing cells, while driving process acumen across manufacturing.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain, update, and improve current equipment capabilities and processes
  • Work with vendors on equipment designs to meet equipment specifications, to determine feasibility, project scope, costs, and timelines.
  • Direct the installation, documentation, and training for new equipment.
  • Manage assigned project capital spending and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance and Manufacturing in order to resolve operational problems.
  • Responsible for project success as part of a project team.

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Auto CAD, PICs, Inventor, Solid Works

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering (or similar related degree); Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 1-5 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role. Robotic experience a plus.
  • Experience with metal forming, assembly processes (manual or automated), and coating systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities are shifting regularly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
