A global automotive parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join their New Model department at their facility in the western Columbus, Ohio area. The ideal candidate will have the ability to improve manufacturing operations, collaborate well with other departments, and have a positive, team-oriented mindset. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime—estimate material and manpower needs, assist with budget preparation, etc.
• Design and implement facility layout changes, including equipment analysis, optimization, and installation
• Support new model development, including creating BOM (Bill of Materials), participating in manufacturing feasibility analysis, and assisting with project coordination as needed
• Preparation for quality audits, continuous improvement / Kaizen events, and process improvement initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred, OR Associate’s degree with equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3-5 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; specific familiarity with plastic injection molding is preferred
• Experience with performing time studies and manufacturing optimization is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
• Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
