The primary office is located in Far Rockaway, Queens, and the corporate office is located in New Rochelle, NY and you will be required to travel around all of our property locations periodically. This position assists in providing the highest level of customer service to our residents!

The Managing Director of Security is responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures established for the Security Department are carried out by the greater team, as well as for problem-solving in areas to include, but not limited to personnel issues; staffing and deployment; crime analysis/incident trends; resident concerns; and site safety issues.

The Managing Director of Security works daily with our multiple security teams. He/she will coordinate with other departments including Operations, Leasing, Information Technology, Legal, as well as law enforcement, and emergency service agencies, social service agencies, and resident associations, to provide a safe and secure environment for all residents, employees, visitors, and assets of the company.

Responsibilities Of Managing Director Of Security

• Perform management functions by leading, organizing, directing, planning, training, and evaluating security personnel.
• Actively recruit, hire, and train qualified personnel, and promote and assign personnel based upon their performance and abilities.
• Provide for the safety of all persons and the protection of property and grounds.
• Coordinates with and acts as liaison to internal company departments and outside agencies.
• Completes and submits all necessary security reports.
• Responds to all emergencies and incidents - and exercises lead command.
• Communicates all major security incidents and problems to Ownership.
• Develops thorough knowledge of department-specific electronics and computer systems and pioneers use of new technologies.
• Schedules shift coverage, time off, and oversees the allocation of overtime.
• Responsible for ensuring all Security Guard licensing and hiring requirements are strictly adhered to.
  
  
  

Requirements Of Managing Director Of Security

• Retired Police Officer status required. Previous/Retired NYPD Commanding Officer Preferred
• Experience and knowledge of community policing tactics
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management position
• Competent technology skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc).
• Proficiency in leading a team, motivating others and problem solving.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and external partners.
• Ability to multi-task and complete assignments that sometimes occur in a stressful environment.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Reliable means of transportation to and from the property sites
