Compensation Range: $85,000 - $90,000 yearly commensurate with experience.
Overview
The Managing Director for Youth and Prevention Services contributes to the development of innovative programming, the implementation of effective quality improvement projects and will influence outreach strategies intended to serve New York City’s most at-risk LGBTQ and TGNC (Transgender and Non-Gender Conforming) communities of color. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of Youth and Prevention Services (YPS) programming including oversight of multiple grants/contracts from Federal, State and City funders including quality assurance, contract compliance and staff development. This will collaborate with other program managers and departments to support Housing Works’ Ending the Epidemic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work with Vice President to execute contract documents, budget, scope of work and implementation of strategic planning
- Supervise three (3) Program Coordinators and (1) Assistant Program Director providing supervision with the ability to coach and develop effective management skills
- Support Program Coordinators/Managers with required reporting to funders and ensures adherence to contractual programmatic and financial agreements
- Oversee testing in non-clinical settings for YPS grants/contracts including HIV, Hep C and STI testing. \
- Ensure proper training and staff development is provided with adequate number of testers on the team
- Direct the implementation of screening tools, assessments and evidence-based interventions, drop-in activities and calendar of client events while ensuring effectiveness of activity in meeting program goals
- Collaborate with Housing Works Health Centers to develop and maintain workflows for connecting clients to key prevention and treatment initiatives
- Implements HIV prevention strategy through internal collaboration across departments, innovative outreach and real time tracking that direct quality improvement projects related to easing access to PrEP/PEP services to at risk populations
- Oversee recruitment, on-boarding, and training development for YPS staff, MSW interns, Peers and Volunteers
- Analyze data and monitor program performance through reporting capabilities available across multiple data systems to inform strategies and identify improvements.
- Serve as a key representative on Clinical Quality Initiative (CQI) efforts to identify and monitor quality indicators, including monthly data review and presentation
- Address client complaints by effectively working with staff to troubleshoot swiftly and assist with client grievances by working with VP for Health Equity
- Participate actively in standing meetings, committees and workgroups, alongside other site-level program leaders, to support the delivery of integrated health services as part of a safe and healing community
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the department and ensure compliance through quarterly reporting, staff training and consistent review of policies that may need updating or additional development
- Implement targeted outreach strategies by effectively managing external Housing Works partners including other Department of Health providers, NYC House Ball Community, and other community-based partners and coalitions to facilitate enrollment to Housing Works’ services
- Work effectively with VP to utilize Consultants, including Evaluators, Trainers and Digital Marketing Agency, to support function and provide regular direction to ensure best use of Consultant resources in achieving grant/contract deliverables
- Collaborate with VP and YPS Managers to leverage social media and technology to effectively reach communities including social media content development, digital advertising, 1-800# line and other lead generating mechanisms
- Collaborate with VP for Health Equity to expand YPS resources by assisting with new grant applications, providing data for continuation applications, and exploring new opportunities that expand access of services in line with Housing Works’ mission
