Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic finance division in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial operations, process optimization, and team leadership within the insurance industry. This role ensures accurate financial processing, timely reconciliation, and efficient operations while leading a centralization project to integrate reconciliation and operating work from multiple entities.
The Job
- Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR & AP) Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the AR & AP teams, ensuring accurate processing, timely cash management, and prompt payment of invoices. Monitor cash flow, manage receivables and payables, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
- Centralization Project Leadership: Lead the centralization project aimed at integrating reconciliation and operating activities from various entities into a unified process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize procedures, implement best practices, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Reconciliation & Financial Reporting: Ensure monthly and periodic reconciliations of AR & AP accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare comprehensive reports and financial statements, providing insights into performance and process improvements.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, reduce manual intervention, and enhance productivity across AR & AP functions. Implement process improvements and automation tools that support strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and develop the AR & AP teams, ensuring a high level of performance and continuous professional growth. Allocate resources effectively and foster a collaborative team environment focused on achieving departmental and organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between finance teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective communication. Present regular updates, performance metrics, and project progress reports to senior management.
- Audit & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in all AR & AP activities. Coordinate with internal and external auditors, addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Our Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Finance or a related field. Other relevant certifications (e.g. LOMA, MII) is a plus.
- 6-10 years of working experience in Finance supervisory roles or minimum 5 years of audit experience. Candidates with insurance accounting system knowledge is a plus.
- Proficiency in Oracle Cloud and Broadridge applications, particularly in Financials, HCM, and EPM modules. Strong understanding of cloud architecture and business processes.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and effective in stakeholder managements.
- Possess strong decision-making and problem-solving ability, with the ability to analyse and manage conflicts.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic setting, with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in finance operations deliverables and documentation.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
