Job Title: Storage and Distribution Manager

Status: Exempt

Department: Supply Chain

Summary

The Storage and Distribution Manager oversees the strategic planning and execution of storage, logistics, and distribution operations to optimize cost, efficiency, and compliance. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and Sales to meet company and customer expectations while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound and outbound inventory movement to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery.
  • Identify and manage relationships with cold storage and third-party logistics (3PL) vendors, ensuring they meet company and customer needs.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, damages, and shrinkage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and product age, proactively addressing potential issues with Sales and Operations.
  • Coordinate distribution flows with third-party cold storage based on production plans, contracts, and sales orders.
  • Maintain and update the off-site product catalog, collaborating with Quality Assurance for accuracy.
  • Generate monthly rolling forecasts for third-party storage/processing partners, including blast freezing, storage, and shipment activity.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance data sharing with third-party logistics partners.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, traceability, food safety, and company policies.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management.
