About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced QA Manager to lead the quality assurance efforts for our Android mobile applications. This role is crucial in ensuring our consumer-facing products are reliable, user-friendly, and of the highest quality. You'll manage a growing team of QA engineers (manual + automation), establish best practices, and work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver delightful user experiences.

Reports To: VP Engineering


Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end quality strategy for our mobile (Android) apps.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10–15 QA engineers across manual and automation.
  • Define and implement robust test plans, test cases, and QA processes.
  • Drive the automation strategy to improve coverage, reduce regression time, and increase release velocity.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to ensure thorough test coverage and timely delivery.
  • Identify, track, and manage quality metrics, KPIs, and defect leakage rates.
  • Manage test cycles across sprint releases, hotfixes, and feature launches.
  • Hire, train, and upskill QA team members as the team scales.
  • Lead from the front during critical launches and incident resolution.



Requirements

  • 10+ years of total QA experience with at least 2–3 years in a QA leadership role.
  • Must have managed QA for high-quality consumer-facing mobile apps with a large user base.
  • Strong knowledge of Android platform and QA lifecycle.
  • Experience in both Manual and Automation testing (UI, API, Regression, Performance).
  • Hands-on with tools like Appium, Espresso, JUnit, Selenium, TestNG, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with crash reporting and mobile analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Crashlytics).
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling QA teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with iOS or web QA in addition to Android.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of bug tracking tools like Jira, TestRail, etc.
  • Start-up or high-growth environment experience.
