Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00am to 4:00pm

The Manager PMO is responsible for the governance, standards and execution of projects across the organization ensuring projects are delivered within budget and on time. Responsible for supporting project teams through continuous development and growth and process improvement. Ensures alignment of projects with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Leadership & Team Management (30%)

  • Responsible for hiring, training and performance management.
  • Manage shared resources across the PMO’s project portfolio, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.
  • Conduct training and development activities for project managers and PMO staff.

Governance & Standards (20%)

  • Establish and implement project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Oversee development, enhancement and maintenance of the project management software system.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Portfolio & Project Oversight (30%)

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects across departments.
  • Monitor project progress and portfolio health, ensuring on-time, on-budget and high-quality delivery mitigating risk.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project performance and risk escalating issues as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication (20%)

  • Partner with stakeholders and executives to align project goals with business strategy.
  • Maintain and improve project reporting and communication tools (dashboards, scorecards, etc.)

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in project management with at least 3 years’ experience in a PMO leadership role.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise scale projects on time, within budget and meeting stakeholder expectations.

License/Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

Skills/Knowledge And Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to present to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with PM tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Asana).
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to build engaged, high performing teams.
