Location: The Lung Health Foundation is based in Toronto and operates in a hybrid model, in which staff are required to work at the office a minimum of two days each week with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required.
Salary range: $72,000 - $80,000

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Program Design & Advocacy will support the Lung Health Foundation’s evidence-based Lung Cancer Action Plan and other LHF initiatives, working collaboratively across the Programs Department and organization. This role contributes to the execution of evidence-based lung cancer programs and other projects by applying principles of evidence assessment, program design, implementation science, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
Under the guidance of the Director, the Manager will help ensure programs are grounded in evidence, responsive to need, and executed effectively. Success in this position will require both strategic thinking and practical follow-through, with a hands-on approach to planning, coordination, and continuous improvement.
Key Areas Of Focus Include:
- Supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives and programs
- Building and supporting relationships with clinical and community partners
- Identifying priorities and opportunities within the Lung Cancer Action Plan
- Assisting in quality improvement efforts using measurement and evaluation
The Manager will collaborate with teams across LHF to align project efforts with organizational goals and contribute to additional initiatives as priorities evolve.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program and Project Support
The Manager Will Support The Design And Execution Of Strategic Initiatives, With a Primary Focus On Advancing The Lung Cancer Action Plan Using Evidence-based Approaches. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Applying strong clinical knowledge and a solid understanding of evidence assessment to inform program direction and ensure alignment with leading practices.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify needs, co-design solutions, and successfully deliver on project objectives.
- Contributing to strategic planning, sustainability initiatives, and evaluation efforts across multiple program areas.
Evidence-Based Assessment & Insights
The Manager Will Help Ensure LHF Programs Are Grounded In Research And Responsive To The Needs Of Those Affected By Lung Disease, Including Lung Cancer. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
- Supporting literature reviews, environmental scans, and best practice research
- Identifying trends and gaps in lung cancer to inform strategic direction
- Contributing to the development of evidence-informed recommendations
- Supporting measurement of outcomes and continuous learning
Project Management Expectations
The Manager Will Play a Key Role In Project Coordination And Execution, Ensuring Timelines And Deliverables Are Met While Fostering Collaboration Across Teams. Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting project planning, tracking milestones, and coordinating internal and external contributors
- Maintaining documentation such as workplans, meeting notes, and reporting tools
- Monitoring risks and flagging challenges or barriers to relevant leads
- Assisting with progress tracking, data reporting, and process improvements
- Supporting the development of presentations, reports, and knowledge-sharing resources
- Ensuring compliance with funder and partner requirements

- Assist in external communications and advocacy efforts, including media engagement in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team
QUALIFICATIONS
- A university degree in public health, health sciences, life sciences, or a related field such as a Bachelor of Arts is required; graduate-level training is considered an asset.
- Minimum four years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Program design, project management, implementation science, quality improvement, or evaluation
- Stakeholder engagement, particularly within healthcare or community health contexts
- Public health or healthcare policy, programming, or research
- Lung cancer expertise or experience in oncology-related data, programs, or populations is considered a strong asset
- Fluency in French is considered an asset
