The Corporate Treasury team is looking for a talented and motivated Manager of Insurance Risk & Compliance. This role serves as the enterprise subject matter expert on business unit insurance functions for Caterpillar's Energy & Transportation segment. This position is responsible for developing and administering worldwide risk management and insurance programs for property, casualty, cargo transit, construction and assembly, specialty/executive liability, and surety risks. In addition, this role advises senior management including attorneys, Legal contract specialists, project managers, managing directors, business development managers, logistics managers, and facilities engineering managers on a daily basis on issues associated with the global corporate insurance programs, as well as negotiates insurance clauses directly with customers, suppliers, managers and attorneys. The Manager of Insurance & Risk Compliance is a unique opportunity to be an integral member of a global corporate finance organization and act as key liaison for business unit leaders and third-party relationships.
What You Will Do:
Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership and vision to diverse and high performing corporate insurance team colleagues
* Provide highly specialized, technical support to global legal group and senior management in many countries as risk management / insurance subject matter expert analyzing and interpreting corporate sales, supplier, and other contracts to assure adequate insurance protection for the company
* Conduct direct negotiations with major customers, including their senior management, project managers, risk managers, lawyers, and insurers regarding contractual insurance language, coverage placements, policy administration, invoicing, certificates, and claims
* Research, analyze and make recommendations regarding new insurance coverage (e.g. earthquake, nuclear liability) or consolidating existing coverage for legal entities / facilities worldwide
* Provide leadership with respect to the annual insurance program renewal process, including development of required information for underwriter submissions and active participation in underwriter meetings
* Maintain strong relationships with internal & external business partners including key brokers and insurance companies to research and indemnify needed improvements to minimize asset and third-party liabilities, reduce insurance coverage costs, and/or upgrade processes
* Typical internal customers include the Vice President & Corporate Treasurer, Assistant Treasurers, Business Unit Division Chief Financial Officers, Caterpillar Insurance, and global business unit leaders
What You Have:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in insurance, risk management, finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field
* 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible global insurance experience including, but not limited to, sales, supplier and lease contract reviews and negotiations, claims management, underwriting data collection and corporate insurance policy renewals.
* Extensive Industry knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
* Extensive experience in service excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
* Expert experience in communicating complex concepts: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
* Expert experience in negotiation: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques ability to negotiation successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner
* Extensive experience in problem solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
* Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation
* Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated commitment to a strong compliance culture
Additional Details:
* Location: Peoria, IL; Nashville, TN; Irving, TX
* This role requires 5 days a week onsite/in office
* Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

* This role requires up to 20% travel depending on leader/team locations
Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
