Job Summary
As a manager of infrastructure engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Network Rapid Response team, your primary role will be to lead a team of highly skilled engineers with a focus on incident response and continuous improvement in processes. This position offers the opportunity to excel in major incident resolution, prioritize and ensure timely closure of standard incidents, and promote 100% change effectiveness. Additionally, this role provides the chance to coach and guide a team, solve recurring problems, and contribute to the overall strategy of the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team focused on incident response, while also dedicating time to continuous improvement in processes, runbooks, automation, monitoring, postmortems, and follow-ups.
- Define and drive the completion of tasks, ensuring both personal and team accountability.
- Delegate work effectively, track progress, and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
- Develop organizational goals, priorities, and service objectives in alignment with the overall GTI strategy.
- Conduct talent evaluations and performance appraisals for team members.
- Analyze, track, and manage incident management for daily operations.
- Review and certify documentation, manage escalations, and advocate for the customer base during critical infrastructure or business issues.
- Lead programs requiring technical and soft skills to drive agile delivery using Jira.
- Directly and indirectly manage people, leading service calls related to incident, change, or problem management.
- Drive improvements in network support systems, monitoring, automation, processes, documentation, runbooks, and training.
- Mentor engineers at all levels, fostering skill growth to support multiple technologies.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Formal training or certification on Cisco support concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a subject matter expert or manager in a network engineering team or network operations center
- Expertise in Cisco support and at least one other infrastructure technology.
- Proficiency in data center troubleshooting including Cisco Nexus switches in large fabrics, F5 global and server load balancing, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and Fortinet or Palo Alto firewall management .
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Python.
- Strong data analytics presentation skills identifying trends and areas of improvement.
- Proficient in network management tools such as SevOne, ThousandEyes, Splunk, and SNMP.
- Knowledge of risk and controls management, budget/financial management, and change management.
- Superior communication skills for leading major incidents and engaging with clients, engineers, and vendors.
- Ability to push our vendors to provide timely updates to us and avoiding future incidents.
Location/Shift:
- Work schedule: Either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, 7 am to 4 pm EST.
- Day and or shift schedule may change with notice.
- Ability to be on call one week out of every month.
