Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, Security, IT, Management Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ experience of progressive responsibilities administering (installation, support, repairs, troubleshooting, applications) on various construction projects related to safety and security, worked on software solutions for project management software, application database integration, asset management, and enterprise network operation.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory/management experience.
- Ability to supervise, coach, manage, and direct the staff.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of security card access systems, intrusion alarm systems, locks and keys hardware’s, familiar with electric lock hardware installation and working knowledge of the door access components, ability to learn new technology and its operation for access systems.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, excellent problem solving skills, ability to remain calm under stressful situations as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a team environment and able to collaborate professionally with all stakeholders and the department heads, UTS , OUPD , Housing, Student Affairs, Purchasing etc.
- Experience with budgeting, technical proposal, bidding process, vendor management, IT and purchasing procurement.
- Ability to execute tasks or the projects within budget and on schedule.
- Ability to present power point presentation to university management.
- This position is required to be performed in-person (40) hours per week.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with software applications including Banner® by Ellucian software, Security software’s, Door Access software’s.
- Prior experience in a college or university setting.

Position Details
Position Purpose
Provide leadership and play a key role to ensure physical safety and security of campus by planning, development, directing and managing design, installation, commissioning, testing, operation, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and trouble-shooting of integrated security systems and technical platform including electronics and physical access controls of the university facilities. Services include but not limited to the following; mechanical/electronic access controls, electronic and mechanical hardware’s, low voltage wiring, alarms, panels, card readers, software’s and other related integration. The Manager will be responsible for organizational safety and security strategy and overseeing policy, procedures, security protocols, various initiatives, development of project budgets and the implementation of technology in a collaborative manner to provide a safe and secure campus.
The Manager will also play a key role in Facilities Management technology operations and implementation of packaged software solutions and complete data integration among applications in conjunction with the University Technology Services ( UTS ) and external vendors. Provide technical and business process solutions to meet the changing and expanding needs of the department. Expand capability for utilization of Banner and other applications. Assist department staff with transition to new software applications by addressing concerns, answering questions, acting as liaison between software technical supports, and informing leadership of potential issues along with solutions. Monitor and coordinate the collection, generation, reporting and distribution of work orders as required. Ensure high quality customer service is provided on all tasks
