Oversees backend work products of the Revenue Cycle Team, including the Patient Accounting Team and the other HIS System Managers. Leads various multi-disciplinary teams to organize and deploy large complex projects. Responsible for coordinating the efforts of all team members to plan, organize, manage, communicate, and control the analysis, evaluation, acquisition, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of extremely complex, integrated computer-based application software projects. Insures cohesive efforts in standardizing development methodologies and customer support. Insures teamwork, focus and alignment with business customers, technical teams, clinical teams and the PMO. Manages the efforts of assigned personnel and makes assignments for the current and future requirements of application software development. Analyzes problems and opportunities from an enterprise perspective, proposes innovative and cost-effective solutions that reflect a thorough understanding of the business, and insures development and support standards are followed. Maintains expert information technology status on supported clinical and patient business areas, and comprehensive knowledge of related areas. Evaluates and recommends a broad range of hardware and software products for applicability, compatibility, and long-range integration with other systems. Manages the cohesive design, development, testing, documentation, and long-term support of complex custom and commercial software. Performs these functions personally on extremely critical components and as necessary to meet commitments. Instructs others in related business processes. Refines department standards and procedures for Information Technology Analysis and system documentation. Assesses the enterprise-wide impact of proposed technical or procedural changes. Provides senior management, the end user and outside organizations with timely and accurate memos, time estimates, project plans, and progress reports regarding projects and assigned systems. Communicates with HIS System Managers to insure changes are approved by those effected. Makes highly effective technical and business presentations. Ensures all work products are organized in an effective and efficient manner. Works closely with the PMO to make sure all projects involving the PMO are executed smoothly. Communicates the status of assigned projects, systems, and User requests with necessary personnel to keep all parties informed. Consults with Users formally and informally as necessary to stay completely aware of important business issues. Provides direct, continuous oversight of data security, integrity, backup and recovery procedures for assigned systems. Manages development of proposals, designs, testing scripts, and implementation plans. Insures by direct observation that mission-critical batch and real-time interfaces between complex systems from multiple vendors using function properly and with minimal downtime. Designs highly integrated and efficient data structures to meet enterprise needs. Collaborates with others to monitor and control outcomes of work products and system performance in assigned systems. Ensures efficiency and logical soundness in assigned systems by planning, personal observation, peer review and other quality assurance processes. Insures functional operation and reliability of assigned systems by coordinating the planning, and execution thorough test plans in close coordination with the User and others as necessary prior to implementing scheduled system changes. Directs and interacts with multiple vendors on behalf of the organization. Acts as a primary liaison between the Customer and other internal or external support organizations for project management and problem resolution. Responds as required on a 24/7 basis to support the enterprise, and assess the organizational impact of urgent problems and emergencies. Takes assertive action to restore full functionality in a timely manner. Engages other managers and senior Associates in problem resolution. Takes initiative, exercises independent judgement, directs and communicates with others, and acts as a leader with very broad authority, coordinating and directing inside and outside resources as necessary to resolve problems.
