Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking two Engineering Managers (Level 2) to join our team.

These are remote positions supporting designated Northrop Grumman sites with required 50% travel.

These GSC Manufacturing Field Engineering (MFE) Managers will lead either the East Coast OR the West Coast MFE team, setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives, and company policy.

Manufacturing Field Engineering (MFE) is a technical group of Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineers who work to proactively resolve producibility and technical issues across the supply base. The MFE organization performs risk reduction and identification through proactive supplier engagement and critical part production oversight. The MFE team is Northrop Grumman’s technical boots on the ground.

Duties And Responsibilities

This position is a telework role and reports to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Supplier Technical Execution organization for the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector (NGAS). In this role, the candidate will serve as the Manager of Manufacturing Field Engineering East or West in supporting all NGAS programs. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing GSC strategies with focus on achieving operational efficiency, safety and first-time quality targets. Candidate will be responsible for various activities, be knowledgeable of multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain organization, and exhibit end-to-end supply chain competency.

  • Manage a technical team of 10-15 remotely located direct-report engineers
  • Provide and coordinate supplier support for NGAS programs and the Delivery Management Team (DMT) organization
  • Provide up to daily communication guidance to the Procurement Organization and other IPT organizations regarding supplier base issues and activities
  • Develop and track progress of GSC goals for the team and individuals
  • Create and manage functional documents such as PrOP(s), organizational charts, and team calendars.
  • Manage the MFE team labor and travel budgets provided by all supporting programs as well as seek out new opportunities to support NGAS and beyond
  • Generate weekly progress reports of all supplier-critical issues to management
  • Evaluate supplier’s capability(s) when called upon for capacity issues, process control activities and make needed recommendations regarding utilization of the NGC supplier base back to the GSC organization
  • Lead various supplier engagement activities and be a reliable and responsive POC for all GSC and Northrop Grumman leadership
  • Create and implement team priorities based on GSC Program Management needs.
  • Ability to work various special projects in support of the greater organization needs
  • Develop mentorship and training plans and prioritize teammate individuals’ growth

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, engineering, supplier or program quality OR a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, engineering, supplier or program quality OR Associate's Degree with at least 9 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, engineering, supplier or program quality
  • Aerospace manufacturing and supply chain background
  • Ability to understand/ interpret engineering documents/drawings and basic aerospace quality requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including of out-of-state travel
  • Experience with manufacturing and supply chain operations with demonstrated and proven leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively at all levels
  • MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) & knowledge of SAP
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team, process, and/or projects
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret Clearance in reasonable amount of time deemed by Company and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Exposure to major programs including F/A-18, E-2, Triton, F-35, Strike
  • Understanding of various special processing
  • Ability to prepare and present executive-level presentations
  • Excellent communications and leadership skills

Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
