What You'll Be Doing

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Engineering to lead and coordinate our software development activities. With your strong leadership skills and technical expertise, you will manage a software development team and ensure the successful development and delivery of software products. Your key responsibilities include:

• Managing and mentoring the software development team: Taking responsibility for the team’s capabilities and software development practices, and ensuring the team has the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
• Resource Management: Ensuring resourcing plans are aligned with product strategy and executing resource planning accordingly.
• Ownership of Team’s Delivery Capabilities: Troubleshooting process bottlenecks, addressing resource or competence mismatches, and assisting Product Owners in prioritizing technical debt to speed up development.
• Development Process Ownership: Implementing process improvements and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Alignment with Organizational Goals: Ensuring software development processes and practices align with organizational goals and engineering principles.
• Active Collaboration: Working closely with stakeholders, especially within the tech organization, product management, and operations.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Manager, Engineering with extensive experience in managing software development teams. Our team leaders are also substance leaders, possessing deep technical and the ability to guide and mentor their teams effectively. Thus, we are looking for:

• Strong expertise in agile development processes and a proven track record in successful execution.
• Deep understanding of relevant technologies to support team members' career development and address outstanding issues.
• Good leadership skills to inspire and manage diverse teams effectively.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences, in Finnish and in English.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
