As the Data Migration Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end data migrations for clients transitioning to our platform. You will lead data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring accuracy, security, and efficiency while collaborating closely with Customer Operations, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams. This role requires strong technical expertise in data manipulation, scripting, and SQL-based transformations, along with a deep understanding of customer onboarding and operational workflows.
What You'll Do
* Data Migration & Transformation
* Manage and execute the migration of customer data from legacy systems to our platform, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
* Develop and optimize ETL processes to extract, clean, transform, and import data.
* Work with Salesforce, Zoom, Jira and other platforms to facilitate seamless customer transitions.
* Utilize SQL tools to manipulate and transform data as needed.
* Build scripts and automation for data processing using Python (Django), Ruby, or modern frameworks.
* Customer Operations & Cross-Team Collaboration
* Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth data migration and onboarding.
* Identify and troubleshoot data integrity issues, working with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
* Develop data validation processes to ensure migrated data is complete and accurate.
* Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and assist with customer-facing discussions related to data migration.
* Process Improvement & Best Practices
* Define and document data migration strategies, workflows, and best practices.
* Continuously optimize migration processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
* Evaluate and implement automation tools to reduce manual data handling.
* Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or a related field, preferably in FinTech, SaaS, or professional services software.
* Expertise in SQL-based data manipulation (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, CSVs, Excel).
* Proficiency in Python (Django), Ruby, or Ruby on Rails for scripting and data processing.
* Experience working with Salesforce and Zoom preferred.
* Strong understanding of ETL workflows, data architecture, and database management.
* Experience working with large datasets, relational databases, and data transformation techniques.
* Ability to troubleshoot data inconsistencies and implement validation processes.
* Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
* Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance standards.
* This position is preferred to sit in Austin, Texas.
