Summary

The American Academy of Dermatology is seeking a Manager, Data Analytics located in our Rosemont, IL office responsible for supporting the American Academy of Dermatology's efforts to design and deliver the gold standard of dermatologic education through data analysis and reporting. Manage development and dissemination of Academy's educational needs assessment aimed at identifying trends and gaps in member educational needs. Analyze data from educational activities and at the overall program level and develop readable dashboards and reports offering insights into current and recommendations for future programming. Manage the AAD Core Curriculum, an outline of topics for the practicing dermatologist and educators, including collecting usage data and monitoring platform functions on the AAD Learning Management System (LMS); maintaining relevancy and currency of Core Curriculum content; reporting and resolving tagging outcomes. Work collaboratively with Education Department staff members, other AAD departments and staff. Review data for plausibility and patterns for outliers and inconsistencies within the data. Summarize data trends, gaps, and patterns. Work with Academy staff on review and assurance of all aspects of data quality (e.g., completeness, standardization, accuracy). * Manage the development and dissemination of Academy's educational needs assessment using business intelligence software and processes, ensuring data integrity within systems. Analyze needs data and disseminate into readable, goal-oriented reports to AAD Education planning groups and to staff for integration into programming. Conduct literature reviews and include in reports to support identified needs. * Direct incoming research requests by working with AAD staff and physician leadership to vet requests, determine analytic feasibility, develop project timelines and processes, and communicate with data requestors and other stakeholders. * Oversee the AAD Core Curriculum for dermatology, working with members to review content to ensure that topics spanning the breadth of the specialty are represented. Using established tagging systems, tag educational activities to the Core Curriculum and ABMS Core Competencies. Analyze tagging results for gaps in areas identified as educational needs for members. * Collaborate with the Directors to develop strategies and assessment tools that assist learners in implementing knowledge/competence/performance gained from their participation in Academy educational activities into clinical practice. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or Life Science or equivalent experience required, advanced degree preferred. * Minimum 5 years of Microsoft BI or Tableau experience required. * Proficiency in project management systems a plus. * Knowledge of general medical terminology required. * Minimum 6 years of professional experience working in the healthcare field. * Familiarity with research activities including information gathering, organization, and analysis. * Provide analytical, programming, and technical support, both quantitative and qualitative. * Possess organizational, time management, and planning skills. Successful track record of managing multiple projects. * Ability to think critically and execute projects under minimal supervision. * Ability to apply effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication methods to achieve desired results. * Monitor programs and/or activities and take corrective action when necessary. * Need to work effectively with all levels of an organization and feel comfortable communicating directly with physicians. * Weigh alternative actions and make decisions that incorporate opinions, facts, tangible, and/or intangible factors. * Focus on the objectives and results when considering the alternatives to a decision. * Solicit the input of the appropriate people to improve the quality of a decision. * Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Google Analytics, experience with relevant analytic software (e.g., R, Python), and relational databases (e.g., SQL).
