The Manager, Corporate Security will report to the Director of Corporate Services, and will lead the Corporate Security function, including developing, implementing, and executing long-range plans to deliver corporate security services. These include overall maintenance, repairs, alterations, and licensing of the physical protection systems and other physical security elements that protect ENMAX assets.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manages the Corporate Security team to execute physical security programs, systems, and services, including planning, scheduling, and supervising all planned and on-demand maintenance activities, security guard services and security operations center, parking enforcement, key control, and reception duties, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Leads preventative maintenance of physical security systems and equipment, ensuring the execution of an efficient and effective preventative maintenance program.
  • Leads project management, ensuring the execution of the physical security capital asset management plan for the physical protection systems and equipment, and on-demand replacements.
  • Participates in the development and administration of maintenance, construction, or service contracts, including request for proposals, bid evaluation, bid selection, and award of contracts.
  • Coordinates corporate security activities and services with other departments, partners, the public, and outside agencies, and liaises with law enforcement as needed. Supports internal and external investigations.
  • Develops and leads the physical security threat and risk program for assets and people, including coordinating with other departments regarding CIP related elements, cyber security and external partners.
  • Prepares corporate security budget and capital asset management plan, administers, and monitors the budgets including submitting budgetary recommendations, anticipates future budgetary needs, and variance analysis.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves reports of a budgetary, technical and/or evaluative nature and recommends or implements courses of action.
  • Maximize the development, performance and engagement of staff through coaching and mentoring, while aligning efforts with departmental and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with ENMAX Safety to develop a physical safety program, training, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops, interprets, and enforces internal standard operating procedures, policies, and processes for physical and corporate security.
  • Develops, trains, and executes emergency response plans related to corporate security. Works collaboratively with other departments to execute emergency response plans and effectively leverages security guards to assist with emergency response.


Education Required

  • Undergraduate degree preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Law


Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong technical background and a minimum of 10+ years in progressive corporate security positions and 5+ years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent project management and relationship management skills and the ability to lead or influence internal, external groups and decisions makers.
  • Demonstrated experience in threat and risk assessment and mitigation (certification preferred)
  • Expertise in physical protector systems and equipment, capital asset management planning, corporate security, contractor management as well as financial controls and budgeting

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
