The Manager of Content Insights needs to be an enthusiastic problem solver, with extensive focus on the television and media landscape, specifically on performance— answering the questions around who, when, and how Starz subscribers are engaged with our programming and the value it provides to the business. They will need to be proficient with data visualizations, with a strong ability to identify important key performance metrics and synthesize findings to produce actionable insights.

Reporting to the Director of Content Insights, the Manager of Content Insights will be highly collaborative, and work within the larger Insights & Analytics team, as well as communicating actionable findings to key stakeholders across various departments (e.g. Distribution, Programming, Media Relations, Marketing, and Planning, Scheduling & Operations). In this role, the Manager will need to be able to clearly communicate updates not only on Starz programming, but also the greater competitive landscape, monitoring and addressing the needs and priorities of our stakeholders and company goals.

Responsibilities

• Know how to best tell the story, serving as a content and content consumption subject-matter expert, and a resource to key stakeholders throughout the company
• Build/Manage cross-platform performance reports/dashboards to use for analysis and insights
• Monitor and provide competitive performance analysis, with a focus on the SVOD/AVOD landscape
• Construct methodologies and metrics in an ongoing effort to understand and evaluate our content’s value to the business
• Work closely with other members within the Insights & Analytics group, collaborating on projects to create a holistic understanding of the Starz subscriber and how they interact with our products
• Partner with the Content Analysis arm of the Content Insights team to bring more visibility to our work
• Work closely with data engineering to ensure integrity and accuracy of relevant data tables

Qualifications & Skills

• 4+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, data visualization, and/or data engineering
• Strong communications skills (written and oral) for working with technical colleagues, non-technical colleagues, and senior executives
• Experienced in building strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to tackle big, cross-functional problems
• Strong database skills such as intermediate/advanced SQL, Snowflake, and AWS
• Ability to operate independently, identify strategic goals to support the company’s business needs, and manage a team effectively
• Experience in media industry preferred, particularly an SVOD or OTT platform
• High Proficiency skills with Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects, with attention to detail
• Familiarity with third-party data and tools such as Nielsen, comScore, or MRI a plus (but not required)
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning concepts; knowledge of Python, or other data science environments a plus (but not required)
• B.A. or B.S. in relevant fields such as (but not limited to) Communications, Computer Science, Finance, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering

$100,000 - $120,000
