Summary

Manager, Cloud Engineering Manager, Cloud Engineering Specialized is seeking a Manager, Cloud Engineering to lead our dynamic team. This role involves overseeing the management and enhancement of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring the successful implementation of DevOps practices, and guiding the team towards achieving operational excellence. Managerial Responsibilities * Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the cloud engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. * Develop and execute strategic plans for cloud infrastructure growth and optimization. * Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful project completion. * Implement performance metrics and monitoring systems to track team progress and cloud infrastructure health. * Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on cloud engineering initiatives. * Manage budgets and financial planning for cloud engineering projects and initiatives. * Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the stability and security of cloud infrastructure. Technical Responsibilities * Analyze developer needs through use cases and requirements gathering to propose optimal architectures. * Identify components, frameworks, and best-in-class patterns for seamless integration within our software products. * Participate in building high-performance, scalable, and secure applications. * Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance deployments, automate processes, and secure the overall landscape. * Create and maintain high-quality documentation. Managerial Qualifications * Demonstrated experience in leading and managing engineering teams, with a focus on cloud infrastructure. * Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals. * Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. * Experience in budget management and financial planning for engineering projects. * Ability to identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies. * Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed choices that benefit the team and organization. Technical Qualifications * Demonstrated experience in AWS services (VPC, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, CloudWatch) with at least 5 years in system or network administration. * Proficiency in tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. * Working knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes. * Experience with Git and cloud-based Git providers like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. * Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins. * Exceptional understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL. * Knowledge of routers, firewalls, load balancers. * Experience in languages like Bash and Python * Experience working within compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2) and ensuring requirements are met. * Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive. * Strong self-initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly synthesize new ideas and concepts. PAY Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations: California Base Pay Range: ($99,843 - $173,728 ) * At Specialized, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and will depend on your work experience, skills, certification, and location.
