In this role you will be challenged to link the external learning needs for the public and private sector with the developments and expertise in a university context. You find opportunities for continuing education partaining to strategic priority themes.
You are eager to keep the organisation informed and connnect with trends and needs in society and relevant professional sectors. With your team you are responsible for generating revenue for the university via B2C and B2B activities.
The Extension School is repositioning it's portfolio to a variety of Lifelong Learning products, including (online) courses, short learning programmes, masterclasses, learning communities, and webinars.
With your inspirational, motivational and result oriented leadership, you manage the teams that work on Product & Portfolio (5 people), Administration (3), Projects (5) and Marketing & Communication (8) guiding them through transitioning to the next level as a professional support organisation. You have a clear vision and strategy for your teams, and empower them to take ownership to reach the agreed targets.
Throughout your job, you switch fluently between roles and styles in communication and leadership to reach the organisation's objectives, in collaboration with various internal and external partners.
Working closely with the Manager Education Support, you further develop and implement the learner-centered approach that is at the core of the portfolio.
Using market data and liasing with public and private organisations, you identify market needs and corresponding opportunities within the university. Together with your the team, you support and motivate faculty members to work with us.
You work with the Academic Portfolio Directors and the Portfolio Managers to regularly review the portfolio and implement new products and programmes to meet societal challenges.
The management team of Extension School consists of an executive director, director of ES Education, manager Education Support and you. Together you are responsible for the Extension School's strategy and operations. You participate in university committees to align on strategy, policy and technology.
Some of the projects you will be leading are the continuation of the implementation of new website, the selection and implementation of a CRM system, the participation in the Beethoven project and multiple other projects funded by the NGF LLO Katalysator.
Job Requirements
Must Haves:
- You are an experienced, hands-on manager of teams with a coaching leadership style.
- You have experience in a market-oriented environment.
- You have a Commercial background, preferably in an education sector, with an eye for both the academic, societal and industrial context.
- You are entrepreneurial, and product and result-oriented.
- You are familiar with the academic setting and context.
- You have a clear vision on, and experience with, offering continuing education.
- You have an affinity with the TU Delft portfolio: science, engineering and design.
- You are a collaborative, diplomatic and persuasive partner who is sensitive to different perspectives and able to bring various parties and their interests together.
- You feel at home in an international working environment and are comfortable to communicate in both Dutch and English.
- You have experience in setting up agreements with companies and other parties.

Conditions of employment
- Duration of contract is 1 jaar. Temporary with prospect of permanent
- A job of 36-40 hours per week.
- A salary based on Schaal 13 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €6286 - €7651 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
