Controller – Management Company (Onsite | Boston, MA)

An established private credit investment firm based in Boston is looking to bring on an experienced Management Company Controller to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have 8–12+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong background in fund accounting and a focus on the management company side. This is a full-time, onsite position offering a competitive base salary (up to $210K) plus a performance-based bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the financial operations of the management company, including monthly close, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning processes in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Supervise payroll functions, employee expense reimbursements, benefits accounting, and compensation-related allocations.
• Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow management, capital planning, and liquidity forecasting.
• Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure accurate preparation and timely filing of management company and partner-level tax returns.
• Maintain compliance with all internal control procedures, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
• Work cross-functionally with fund accounting, legal, HR, and investor relations teams to support firm-wide operations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 8–12+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a fund or financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of management company accounting practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Must be available to work onsite in Boston, five days a week.
  
  

Compensation:

Base salary up to $210,000, plus 25% annual bonus.
