Summary This position is located in the Government Accountability Office as a Management Analyst. The Management Analyst will be responsible for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of policies, programs and operations for major segments of mission team or staff offices functions to help enable management to make timely, evidence based and data-driven decisions. You will participate in a two-year Professional Development Program that includes a combination of on-the-job and classroom training, and exposure to diverse projects within your assigned team. As a Management Analyst, PT-0343-1, your typical work assignments may include the following: * Assists with collection and analysis of engagement staffing data to identify resource needs and develops options, plans, and written or oral reports to ensure mission work can be sufficiently staffed. * Plans, conducts, and/or manages special projects or studies to analyze, evaluate, and provide recommendations on administrative programs or issues. * Contributes to preparation of documents, written reports, plans, and presentations to support staffing process and presents information. * Identifies data required for use in the management and direction of programs to supports the maintenance of data and provision of information for the Managing Director, Planner, Staffing Manager, and/or other managers in the form of statistical reports, summaries, and charts. * Analyzes management information requirements data to assist with developing administrative reporting of performance metrics and evaluate processes to achieve staffing goals. * Analyzes Engagement Management System (EMS) data to develop tracking schedules to ensure timely Director and Managing Director reviews of gate packages and draft reports. * Develops procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative controls and processes. * Monitors, evaluates, and maintains content of an organization's intranet pages to ensure materials are up-to-date and consistent with GAO policies and practices. * Collaborates with staff to develop and support the implementation of processes and strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal programs and services. * Performs other duties as assigned. Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band or level equivalent to GS 5 in the federal service which has equipped them with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: * Analyzing data from various GAO web applications and systems to develop tracking schedules and draft reports; * Reviewing management information requirements data to assist with developing administrative reporting; and * Preparing written documents to support staffing process. OR Have a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing in the upper one-third of graduating class, or (2) a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0, or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. (3) national honor society membership. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Have completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education that has equipped you to perform the duties of the position. OR Have a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience that which meets the total qualification requirement for the GS-07 level.
