Performs mammographic procedures, including mammograms, needle localizations, assists with breast biopsies and specimen radiography. Performs equipment quality control procedures as required. Complies with all state and federal regulatory requirements for mammography technologists Produce quality images as directed by radiologists and physicians for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of general anatomy, technical factors, including DR Tomosynthesis imaging fundamentals, radiation protection, and basic computer skills. Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide. MUST be able to provide exceptional patient care and satisfaction skills to all customers of the Great River Health Systems. Knowledge of basic computer, PACS, and MQSA.
What You Will Do
Adhere to MQSA and state requirements and maintains records.
Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.
Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors for patient exam.
Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
Process exposed radiographs using computer generated methods.
Determine patients' imaging needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
Assure that sterile and non-sterile supplies such as contrast materials, catheters, bx needles, medications, or other required equipment, are present and in working order or requisition materials.
Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards.
Room Patients. Obtain Vitals and perform patient assessment. Explain procedures to patients.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree (AA) Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Required
1-3 years Training/Experience in Mammography Preferred
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor content to key target audiences.
