Summary

Sr. Reliability Engineer

The Senior Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in driving the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of reliability practices across the manufacturing site. This position ensures optimal performance and maximum availability of key production assets, utilities, and support systems through effective collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and operational teams.

The engineer will lead efforts to identify and mitigate reliability risks, utilizing methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Predictive/Preventive Maintenance strategies. The goal is to minimize unplanned downtime, extend equipment life, and reduce maintenance costs while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement and sustain advanced reliability practices (e.g., RCA, FMEA, RCM).

  • Analyze equipment performance and develop asset care strategies to improve uptime and efficiency.

  • Act as a technical advisor, offering troubleshooting support and reliability guidance to operations and maintenance teams.

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for equipment and process performance.

  • Train and mentor maintenance personnel in precision maintenance and reliability best practices.

  • Lead projects focused on mechanical integrity, rotating equipment, and predictive maintenance technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of reliability engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, ideally in a mid-sized operation.

  • Expertise in asset strategy development, condition-based maintenance, and failure analysis.

  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, equipment design, and failure mechanisms.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (preferably IBM Maximo) and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in the food manufacturing industry.

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.

  • Certifications such as CMRP, CRL, or in Predictive Maintenance Technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography).

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
