**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** The Maintenance Mechanic role requires a strong background in maintenance, with a focus on mechanical or electrical systems. While the position does not involve direct work with equipment or machinery, the ability to identify problems when necessary is essential. The equipment you will encounter includes FFS packaging lines, transfer systems, chemvac conveyors, and other packaging machinery. Daily tasks include administrative duties such as managing work schedules, following up with technicians, liaising with contractors, managing spare parts inventory and orders, and developing site projects. **Responsibilities** + Repair and improve building and infrastructure. + Maintain and repair distribution equipment. + Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems to diagnose and make repairs. + Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of material handling equipment. + Read and interpret blueprints and schematics. + Follow safety guidelines. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical repair + Packaging equipment expertise + Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics + Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in distribution/packaging environments + Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics + Preventative maintenance + Material handling equipment repair **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous experience with high-speed packaging equipment is highly preferred. + Ability to read, write, and speak English. + Mathematical skills for basic calculations. + Physical capability to lift 55 lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally. **Why Work Here?** The company offers a competitive benefits package and is undergoing significant growth, with plans to double its square footage in Norfolk through a $61M expansion project. **Work Environment** This position is set in a fast-paced distribution environment where the ability to handle a variety of mechanical and electrical systems is essential. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Norfolk, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $56160.00/yr.
