JOB PURPOSE
The Landscape Field Manager is responsible for managing the field operations of the assigned contract maintenance and snow removal projects. Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. In addition, the occupant of this position must develop the people that report to them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of your jobs. Monitor by reviewing job hours, reports and job costs regularly and taking action as needed. Communicate budget hours to Foreman.
Monitor quality of work and be proactive in bringing issues to the team leaders’ attention by inspecting the job on regular basis.
Get to know your people to help them develop within the company. Set goals with them and monitor their progress through timely formal and informal evaluations.
Organize and implement morning and end of day routine, daily huddles, weekly and monthly meetings with all production team members.
Be an active part of our training process by attending or conducting certification training sessions on a regular basis.
Act as the safety manager, implementing safety programs and achieving safety goals.
Perform business development duties (visit offices to drop off brochures, email prospective clients) to procure bid opportunities on new properties.
Working Conditions
This position is an indoor/outdoor job that will require exposure to all weather conditions, dust, dirt, chemicals/solvents and odors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Experience Requirements
Strong communication skills – English and Spanish verbal, written and reading comprehension.
Demonstrated skill and ability managing others at other levels.
Demonstrated skill and ability working with service customers.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills, ability to meet critical deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Education Requirements
GED, AS degree (or equivalent) or 3 years of experience in landscape maintenance preferred.
Certifications in Landscape Maintenance.
Required Skills
Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Bi-lingual Spanish - Verbal and written communication skills (MANDATORY).
Proven leadership abilities; organized, structured approach to crew supervision.
Responsive with positive attitude and initiative, team oriented, and strong role model.
Physical Requirements
A part of this job requires the employee to be able to stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
