We are hiring a Maintenanace & Reliability Engineer / EIT on behalf of our respected client for their oil and gas operations in Lloydminster. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined engineer who thrives on solving problems, optimizing equipment performance, and improving asset reliability in a dynamic industrial environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, analyzing asset performance, and supporting risk-based asset management practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with safety and performance standards, and contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of the facility.
The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes, be proficient in using SAP, and possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
A P.Eng or EIT designation with APEGS is required, along with relevant experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance & Reliability within the Oil and Gas industry.

Duties
- Lead or support equipment Criticality Analysis and gap closure.
- Review project drawings (MOC-Management of Change Projects) and identity data details required to update SAP Plant Maintenance Module according to client's data standards.
- Lead equipment hierarchy and asset data development from small & large projects.
- Support Process Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) identification and develops Maintenance Programs in alignment with SCE Performance Standards.
- Utilize Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) tools and processes to develop risk-based asset management strategies for new facilities and/or major expansions.
- Analyze existing maintenance strategies and KPI’s to determine opportunity for improvements and support or lead gap closure.
- Provide expertise to support or lead closure of site-specific Preventive maintenance programs gaps.
- Provide expertise in development of Equipment Bill of Materials and identifying critical & operating spare inventory.
- Support maintenance work planning, scheduling, and execution improvement initiatives
- Support the development of job aids and training materials to enhance knowledge and utilization of SAP PM Module.
- Support the development and reporting of M&R KPI’s and dashboards including maintaining master data in an accurate and timely manner to ensure validity of the KPI’s.
- Support the development of standards and processes that set the minimum requirements for Canadian Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) maintenance, reliability, and turnarounds.

Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Licensed Professional Engineer or EIT registered with APEGS.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; however, Engineers from other disciplines with experience in a similar role will be considered.
- 2-5 years Engineering and/or Maintenance & Reliability Experience in Oil and Gas.
- Experience in facility operating environments, preferably upstream Thermal (SAGD) facilities, and ideally working in or directly with maintenance and operations teams would be an asset
- Knowledge and experience with safe work practices in oil and gas production accompanied by a superior safety attitude.
- Familiarity with industry standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management would be an asset.
- Knowledge of SAP PM module would be an asset.
- Change management experience in managing change from projects would be an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
