Job Description
we are looking for a lead role from Infrastructure and systems programmer.
A highly experienced and technically proficient Mainframe Operations Lead to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our critical mainframe environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our mainframe systems, managing operational processes, leading a team of mainframe operators, and collaborating with other IT teams to support business needs. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of mainframe technologies, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in mainframe operations, with at least 2-4 years in a leadership role.
Technical knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies, including:
z/OS operating system
JCL (Job Control Language)
TSO/ISPF
SDSF
JES2 or JES3
Experience with one or more mainframe subsystems (e.g., CICS, IMS, MQ)
Experience with mainframe databases (e.g., DB2, IMS/DB)
Knowledge of mainframe security software (e.g., RACF, ACF2, Top Secret)
Experience with mainframe scheduling tools (e.g., CA Workload Automation ESP Edition)
Familiarity with mainframe storage management (e.g., DFSMS)
Knowledge of mainframe networking (e.g., TCP/IP on z/OS)
Proven experience in managing incident, problem, and change management processes within a mainframe environment.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a critical production environment.
