Your Role And Responsibilities

CIO Identity is seeking a Mainframe Developer. You will play a crucial role in managing, develop, and maintain mainframe applications/processes using languages like COBOL, PL/I, REXX or Assembler. This role requires strong technical expertise in mainframe databases such as DB2 or IMS, including data modelling and SQL query development. Experience in Identity is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications/processes using languages like COBOL, PL/I, REXX or Assembler.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work with mainframe databases such as DB2 or IMS, including data modeling and SQL query development.
  • Identify and resolve issues in code through debugging and comprehensive testing methodologies.
  • Optimize existing code for better performance and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and code.
  • Work closely with the team members, requestors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing mainframe applications/process.
  • Assist in migrating legacy systems to newer platforms or integrating with modern applications.
  • Ensure applications comply with security standards and protocols.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Proficiency in COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with mainframe tools and utilities like JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
  • Experience with DB2, IMS, or similar databases, including SQL.
  • Ability to write accurate and maintainable code with a focus on quality.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools relevant to mainframe.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., SLCM, Git) for code management.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience with RACF programs and understanding of the security practices.
  • Understanding of primary and secondary IAM tasks
  • Basic knowledge of Scheduling tools and batch processing
  • Understanding of SYSPLEX environment and communication between LPARs.
