Summary

Position Information

UC Riverside's Campus Business Services is recruiting for a Mail Processor. The full salary range for the Mail Processor is $20.05 - $27.51 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Processing incoming flat and non-standard mail into both sub breakdown and final breakdown for campus distribution. Deliver outgoing mail as per predetermined schedules. Perform departmental accounting of outgoing mail processes using the Mail Operating System (MOS) to segregate charges to individual accounts. Reconcile the postage meters as needed as per USPS regulations. Process Second and Third class mail to breakdown points as per USPS requirements. Responsible for calculating estimates for mail customers. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

2 years of experience in the handling, sorting, and delivery of U.S. mail, including a working knowledge of postal regulations and postal rates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team focused on customer satisfaction; competent in providing effective customer service and resolving problems in a diplomatic manner.
  • Skill to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, stand, and walk on stairs on a daily basis during the course of sorting mail and making mail deliveries.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular and ongoing basis; ability to carry mail pouches, push and pull gurneys and hampers of mail, and use a pallet jack for moving heavy loads from a delivery truck or van to the processing area of Mail Services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of UCR policies and procedures for mail distribution.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and in using Microsoft Office.
  • Skill in prioritizing and distributing both administrative and academic mail.
  • Knowledge of UCR campus organization structure and department locations.
