Scope/Summary Statement: The Machinist will be responsible for the planning, setup, and operation of all machine shop equipment such as milling, grinding, drilling, band/chop saw, turning (lathe work) and polishing.

Job Function Statements

• Set up and monitor all shop machines and there processes. Including holding tolerances of +/- .002.
• Read and understand blue prints, drawings, sketches and instructions to complete specifications of output.
• Must be able to setup and operate all manual machine shop equipment.
• Create basic Prototrak conversational CNC programs.
• Custom machine parts for "fit and function". Not all parts will have drawings or specifications.
• Communicate and collaborate with various departments to create proto type components parts, assemblies, tooling gages, maintenance repair parts and test equipment.
• Must be able to accurately use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages and other standard precision measuring devices.
  
  

Education And / Or Experience

• High School graduate or GED required, completion of technical school highly recommended.
• Minimum of 5 years of machining experience.
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.).
• CNC programming and CAD software experience is a plus.
• Ability to machine and fabricate parts.
• Certified Welder is a plus.
• Ability to work in a safety conscious manner; understanding safety guidelines and protocols.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform related tasks in a time-sensitive environment.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
