As a Machine Operator 1 at Johnson Screens, you will operate manufacturing machinery in alignment with our values of being a true "Johnsonite." Duties & Responsibilities
Operate and monitor assigned machines and equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality production that meets established standards.
Follow work orders, production drawings, and technical specifications to set up machinery and maintain accurate operations.
Demonstrate better & bolder thinking by identifying opportunities to improve machine efficiency, quality output, and production processes.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of production schedules while maintaining the quality and safety of products.
Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure smooth operation, demonstrating a proactive and open-minded approach to equipment care.
Uphold our values by doing the right thing—always ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality guidelines, and company policies.
Work confidently and competently in a fast-paced environment, adjusting machine settings as needed to meet production demands.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to troubleshoot issues, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous improvement in processes.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.
Accurately record production data, equipment usage, and any maintenance activities, ensuring integrity in all documentation.
Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position.
Perform various other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Required Skills
Basic understanding of machine operation, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to confidently follow detailed instructions, drawings, and safety protocols to ensure quality results.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and openly with team members.
Competence in troubleshooting minor machine issues and making adjustments to improve performance.
Ability to maintain integrity in following safety standards, policies, and procedures.
A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
