Job Summary:
The machine operator is responsible for providing safe and efficient operation of injection molding equipment and assembly of products while ensuring maximum quality and productivity, with minimum downtime.
Education and Experience Requirements:
At least 6 months of previous manufacturing experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, understand and perform basic math
Ability to read and understand job specific instructions
Ability to stand, climb, stoop, and bend on a continuous basis
Ability to frequently lift up to 35 lbs.
Good visual awareness and verbal communications required
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect for quality and packaging parts produced from the injection molding or assembly operations
Trim and remove excess plastic, flashing and/or spurs from parts
Assemble components, if required, to customer and product specifications
Assure correct product packaging, quantity and labeling of product cartons
Move finished pallets to stretch wrap machine and wrap pallets, if required
Grind any defective parts or sprues in correct grinders
Understand and follow job instructions as per job packet
Keep work area clean, organized, safe and free of unnecessary debris
Maintain accurate production counts and properly record on work order documents.
Basic molding machine anatomy and operations; open/close, automatic/manual/semi-automatic modes, interpretation of read out screens, nozzle movements, loading /ejecting of parts manually, purge out barrel
Clear and reset machine alarms and ability to stop and restart machine
Training of new employees when needed
Other duties as assigned
