Position Overview: A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Some other tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include:
Responsibilities
- Perform all Preventive Maintenance per manufacture’s specifications and/or other approved specifications, timely repair of equipment with minimal impact to production, interact with manufacture service techs.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Installing new production equipment
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools
- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks
- Communicating with production team and maintaining a clean work area
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education And Experience For The Machine Maintenance Technician
- High school grad or equivalent
- Must have Five (5) years in the Maintenance field related to EMS equipment
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for short periods while inspecting or repairing equipment.
- Frequently moves throughout the facility to perform preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and install or service equipment.
- Regularly positions self to access, repair, or replace parts on machinery, including bending, kneeling, or working in tight spaces.
- Frequently uses hand and power tools to adjust, install, or fabricate mechanical components.
- Regularly moves and transports tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Communicates effectively with the production team and other maintenance staff to coordinate repairs and report equipment status.
- May occasionally work at elevated heights or in confined spaces in accordance with safety procedures.
