Summary

We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who's ready to turn cutting-edge into day-to-day.

At Aviture, we don't chase tech trends, we make them real. Generative AI is no exception. From military mission planning to smarter commercial workflows, we're exploring how these tools can redefine what's possible. We're growing our AI team and looking to add someone who's excited to help shape how these tools deliver real impact at scale.

This is an onsite position at our Omaha headquarters, where you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with designers, developers, and domain experts. You'll be embedded in cross-functional teams working on real problems, and building real solutions, with generative AI at the core. You won't be off in a lab writing white papers. You'll be building prototypes, production-ready integrations, and reusable capabilities that drive impact across a wide range of industries.

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

  • Working onsite with teams to design, build, and integrate generative AI into new and existing applications.
  • Prototyping LLM-driven features, workflows, and agents that support real user goals, not just tech demos.
  • Fine-tuning foundation models (open source and commercial) and engineering prompts that get results.
  • Applying natural language processing, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, and custom embeddings to solve business problems.
  • Collaborating with security, DevOps, and data teams to deploy AI services responsibly and at scale.
  • Helping define best practices and internal tools for integrating AI safely and ethically into our product ecosystem.
  • Staying plugged into the AI landscape, tracking model performance, capability shifts, and what's next.

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent real-world experience building AI-driven applications.
  • Solid Python skills and hands-on experience working with one or more frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
  • Practical experience using LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, etc.) to build real features, not just playground experiments.
  • Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and how they power retrieval-augmented generation.
  • An ability to rapidly prototype, validate ideas, and iterate based on what actually works.
  • Strong communication skills. You can explain tradeoffs to a PM, an engineer, or an executive without losing the plot.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience with enterprise AI deployment: containerization, orchestration, and securing APIs.
  • Understand model evaluation, hallucination risks, and how to mitigate them.
  • Have built AI tools for knowledge management, code generation, summarization, or decision support.
  • Know your way around compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.) and responsible AI principles

This is an onsite role in Omaha. You'll be joining a team that's at the center of our AI capability, working across government and commercial programs to help us build what's next. Responsibly, effectively, and at speed.

If you're excited about generative AI and want to be more than just a consumer of it, let's build together.
