Machine Learning Engineer – Generative AI

Location: Hybrid | Los Angeles, CA

Salary Range: $120+ (depending on experience)

A fast-growing multimedia technology company is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join its Generative AI team in a hybrid capacity based in Los Angeles. The team is responsible for delivering real-time, production-grade generative AI experiences that blend augmented reality, computer vision, and machine learning at scale.

In this role, you'll work at the intersection of applied research and product development, building tools that power next-gen camera experiences. You'll have the opportunity to prototype and deploy models used by millions of users while collaborating with cross-functional product, design, and infrastructure teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build generative ML systems for image and video content
  • Train and optimize diffusion and transformer-based models for real-time AR use cases
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to bring ML prototypes to life
  • Drive innovation across AR and visual computing through experimentation and research
  • Ensure efficient model deployment on-device with a focus on performance and latency


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience applying machine learning to real-world problems
  • Deep understanding of generative models (e.g., VAEs, GANs, Diffusion models)
  • Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Strong programming background in Python or C++
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems and deliver scalable ML solutions


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in a technical field with a focus on AI or computer vision
  • Experience with edge ML or deploying models on mobile platforms
  • Familiarity with techniques for model compression, quantization, or optimization
  • Demonstrated work in open-source projects, academic research, or ML competitions
