Job Title: Machine Design Engineer
Job Description
Design and develop custom machinery and mechanical systems tailored to specific applications across various industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer products, and industrial automation. Conduct feasibility studies, concept development, and engineering analysis to ensure optimal design solutions. Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CAD software, select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to meet performance, reliability, and cost objectives. Collaborate with electrical, controls, and software engineers to integrate automation, sensors, actuators, and control systems. Develop and execute testing protocols, troubleshoot issues, and optimize machine performance. Oversee fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of custom machines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in custom machine design.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
* Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent CAD software.
* 7+ years of mechanical design experience.
* 7+ years of experience with SolidWorks.
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in machine design, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, conveyors, and mechanical design.
* Ability to dimension a part.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Machine design experience.
* Master's Degree is a plus.
* Versatility in knowledge and application, including ultrasonic welding, fabrication, plastics, milling, and other production needs.
Work Environment
The position is within the advanced manufacturing group, initially located in Menomonee Falls and transitioning to Brookfield in January. This is a remote site off the main campus. The role is not a typical 8-hour job; it requires an entrepreneurial mindset, insatiable curiosity, and passion for engineering. The environment is dynamic, with a 'work hard, play hard' culture, ideal for engineers who are driven and hardworking.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
