Bilingual Candidates are encouraged to apply The Prince George's County Department of Health is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a LPMSC Coordinator(Community Developer 3A)position, grade A24, in the Behavorial Health division. About the Position This is a mid-level professional lead and administrative position whereby incumbents perform a variety of assignments in the areas of: (1) community liaison/development/advocacy; (2) providing coordination of administrative services in the Langley Park Multi-Service Center; and (3) serving as team lead to any LPMSC Community Developer I/II or Community Developer Assistant I/II. The incumbent performs a variety of administrative duties and serves as the liaison for interagency services provided at the Center. The majority of consumers served at this site are Spanish speaking, thus bilingual capability is preferred. About the Agency The Prince George's County Health Department's (PGCHD) vision is that all Prince Georgians are their healthiest at every age and every stage. Their mission is to lead, engage, and empower our community to work collaboratively towards disease prevention, health equity, and total well-being. The PGCHD works to protect and support the public's health through numerous services that range from restaurant inspections and disease tracking to care coordination and health promotion. The department is composed of four divisions: Behavioral Health Services, Environmental Health and Disease Control, Family Health Services, and Health and Wellness, supported by the Office of Administration, Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Health Officer. The mandate of the department has been, and will remain, broad. This plan emphasizes improving core functions and operations, including protecting the public from health threats, implementing strategies to support healthy living, and maintaining a focus on vulnerable populations, while developing efficient internal processes to support these activities. Examples of Work * Coordinates all services and all service providers at LPMSC. Maintain information for off-site partners to refer clients as needed. * Manages contracts with external providers and memorandums of understanding with internal partners. * Oversees reporting for clients served and services/providers utilized each month. * Represents LPMSC at internal and external meetings; report and share community-based and relevant legislative information with LPMSC staff and service providers. * Oversees preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance requests, and security programs. * Provides spoken and written translation from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. * Creates workflows and processes to ensure coordinated, effective approach to serving target populations. * Complies with HIPAA and other applicable agency policies. Maintain complete confidentiality of agency-related business. * Performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to emergency response, special projects and/or programs that are consistent with the mandates of the Health Department. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or public administration, social services, sociology, psychology, or related field. * Two (2) years of responsible community development supervisory work. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experiencemayalso be considered. Please note there is no equivalency for supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Two (2) years or more of experience coordinating/managing community-service teams, organizations, and/or locations. * One (1) year or more of leadership/supervisory experience. * Bilingual - English and Spanish a plus. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
