Summary

Job Description

J. Becher & Associates is looking for a Low Voltage Estimator to support our lineup of Multifamily and Commercial projects involving structured cabling, access control, voice/data, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and other low-voltage technologies. This is a detail-oriented role that plays a key part in developing accurate, competitive bids and supporting project success from the ground up.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review drawings and specifications to define project scope
  • Perform takeoffs and build detailed estimates and proposals
  • Participate in jobsite walkthroughs to gather estimating information
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on budgets and timelines
  • Identify and research potential clients, building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with project management team to ensure client satisfaction.

What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience estimating low-voltage systems, such as access control, voice/data, surveillance, structured cabling, and fire alarm systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and produce clear, accurate proposals
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • A confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of the industry and its standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work well across departments
  • Experience with OST, EBM, or other estimating tools is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional jobsite visits, requiring the ability to walk, stand, or climb
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
