Summary

Job Summary The Logistics Intern position is responsible for generating and analyzing information used to assess freight spending and freight strategy across all CCM locations. This position is also responsible for identifying and supporting the implementation of freight cost reduction opportunities. The Logistics Intern creates and maintains transportation related master data in the ERP system and will provide on-going training and support to shipping origins to help promote self-sufficiency and overall process efficiency. This includes working with shipping managers to identify and address areas for improvement. This position is responsible for support and follow up of initiatives related to ensuring compliance with all DOT/FMCSA and Trade Compliance regulations as they apply to the company. Duties and Responsibilities: * Supports FourKites tracking initiative to improve overall CCM shipment tracking rate. * Supports freight claim processing initiative to improve COPQ. * Supports Trade Compliance processes and procedures. * Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing cost. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Basic mathematic skills. * Proficient with SAP software and Microsoft Office software. * Knowledge of spreadsheets, pivot tables, databases, and Microsoft Word. * Use of data visualization software programs such as PowerBI. * Ability to operate basic office equipment. Education and Experience: * Enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Engineering, or Business. Working Conditions: * Office environment. * Occasional exposure to manufacturing and shipping areas. * Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 plus hours per week.
