Our client is an expanding London-based provider of a unique delivery service, setting them apart in the market. They pride themselves on delivering reliable, efficient, friendly and people-focused delivery services across London and the rest of the UK. They're experiencing exciting growth and are looking for a motivated Logistics Coordinator to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and timely movement of their team distributing their customers' deliveries.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proven experience in a logistics, dispatch, or coordination role, ideally within the courier or transportation industry
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
  • Proficiency in using a dispatch software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • A strong geographical knowledge of London and the UK is highly desirable
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • A valid driver's license with no points or endorsements within the last 5 years

What will your role look like?

As our Logistics Coordinator, you'll be a central point of contact for coordinating the flow of delivery allocations and essential delivery distribution information. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and optimising delivery routes to maximise efficiency and meet customer deadlines
  • Dispatching drivers and assigning deliveries, ensuring clear communication and providing necessary information
  • Monitoring the progress of deliveries and proactively addressing any potential delays or issues
  • Liaising with drivers, customers, and other internal teams to provide updates and resolve inquiries
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, vehicle movements, and any exceptions
  • Utilising our dispatch software and other technology to manage operations effectively
  • Assisting with vehicle maintenance scheduling and coordination
  • Contributing to process improvements to enhance our logistics operations
  • Handling incoming calls and emails related to delivery inquiries
  • Covering delivery shifts where needed and being exemplary in following driving and delivery procedures to the rest of the driving teams
