The Logistics Coordinator is a new, dynamic position that will negotiate and coordinate truck and LTL shipments, problem solve and create relationships both internally and externally. What You’ll Do
Dispatch of ready shipments to network of company drivers and approved vendors.
Work with the sales department to provide value to our customers through timely delivery of managed shipments.
Manage the balance between freight expense and achieving commendable customer service.
Manage Freight in accounting and routing software to help manage on time shipments.
Pull reports and navigate efficiently in software to determine load efficiency for upcoming deliveries.
Negotiate freight rates and service conditions with trucking vendors.
Rectify all backorders with plant management on a timely basis.
Set-up and maintain freight vendors, Geo-Area Locations, and Customer Ship to Addresses.
Validate all POD’s and work with Accounts Payable so shipments can be invoiced timely.
Support the General Manager in finding trucking vendors to new destinations.
Implement delivery initiatives and processes that support Lindsay Window’s mission and core values.
Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and establish policies and practices to effectively meet those needs through practicable and feasible solutions.
Work closely with Shipping Supervisors to ensure adequate transportation capacity has been secured to meet forward order fulfillment and delivery requirements.
The qualified candidate will have previous experience with: logistics, scheduling, production workflow and/or trucking
