Summary

Global Technical Systems (GTS) provides innovative, cost-effective, high-tech engineering products and product-based services encompassing latest generation software and hardware solutions and engineering services for defense, homeland security, and other critical Government interests. GTS products and services span a spectrum that includes mission-critical combat systems processors; C4ISR; technology development including threat detection, biometric identification systems, and composite applications for munitions, armor and energy storage; avionics test systems; and lifecycle logistics support and repair. Our Headquarters office in Virginia Beach, VA is searching for a Logistician II to work in-person at 421 South Birdneck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Logistician II Virginia Beach, VA General Description: Under minimal supervision, responsible for performance of all assigned logistics efforts to include maintenance planning; supply support; support & test equipment; manpower & personnel; training & training support; technical data; computer resources support; facilities packaging, handling, storage & transportation. Collects data required for task completion from systems engineering, technical and training personnel in performance of assigned tasks. Principal Duties and Responsibilities This work is typically performed while standing for long periods in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. May be exposed to hazards from equipment, chemicals or toxic materials. May also be exposed to noise and debris during machining. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of heavy materials in excess of 70 pounds. Work Experience Requirements: Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Integrated Logistics Specialist field Educational Requirements (or equivalent): Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts High School with 5 years of experience in Logistics in lieu of BS/BA Working Conditions: Office Environment Essential Skill/Experience: Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment. Ability to analyze CDRLs, DIDs, specifications and standards applicable to assigned projects and translate into performance requirements and actionable tasking. Ability to quickly assess risk, problems, and issues and develop recommended solutions. Demonstrating a thorough understanding of Life Cycle Support requirements. Read and understand TDP drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Knowledge of a variety of tools, hardware, software and processes as required to perform assigned tasking. Understanding of applicable specifications, standards and terminology as required to perform assigned tasking. Microsoft Office Suite. Beneficial Skills/Experience: Effective communication-both written and verbal. ISO Auditor ISO 9001:2008 experience preferred.
