Summary

As a Loan Quality Control Analyst, your day will be filled with opportunities to track, monitor and review data throughout the Loan Process. This position will review Loan Systems and Procedures as it relates to established Compliance, SOX controls and other Regulatory requirements. In addition, the analyst will perform random sampling of cross sections of loan files for overall completeness and Loan Policy standards that are the responsibility of Loan Operations.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Adhere to the timelines set forth in the Loan Quality Control annual monitoring schedule to ensure first line of defense monitoring is effect in self-identifying deficiencies.
  • Review Files for designated portions of the portfolio for adherence to Loan Policy, completeness and accuracy to mitigate potential risk and exposure to regulatory concerns
  • Submit written Monitoring Summaries of reviews to manager, including findings and recommended actions
  • Conduct first line of defense monitoring and testing activities of the Retail, Private Banking, Business Banking and Commercial Lending processes.
  • Participates in the development and expansion of compliance and departmental procedures and controls as indicated through routine monitoring of and communication with the Business Units, Loan Operations and Compliance
  • Follow up with respective internal partners to ensure recommended actions are implemented and are effective
  • Work with and assist compliance with Training Loan Operations on new regulation and process changes as needed.
  • Review and monitor canned system and analytic reports for data integrity and timeliness of resolutions
  • Maintain understanding of the bank’s products, services, geographic locations and the potential risks associated with those activities.
  • Conduct special projects/audits whenever necessary as directed by the Assistant Director of Operations
  • Provide assistance to internal and external auditors and state/federal regulators during their examination of the bank

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • High School/GED education, some college preferred
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in banking operations with knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements as well as knowledge of bank policies and procedures
  • Strong PC skills (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction from Manager.
  • Ability to function in a multi-task environment responding to inquiries from internal compliance, audit, regulatory agencies and outside consultants in a timely manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tactfully communicate with and gain respect of all employees
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret Banking policies and procedures
