The Loan Analyst is responsible for coordination of the loan analysis activities. He or she assists commercial lenders with credit analysis and credit approval packages. The Loan Analyst performs analysis of financial statements, cash flows and pricing analysis. He or she completes the background portion of the credit approval package. The Loan Analyst prepares presentation materials for new and additional credit proposals. He or she independently researches and analyzes company and industry data. The Loan Analyst may provide recommendations for loan terms and pricing structure to commercial loan officers. He or she organizes loan information for the Senior Loan Committee. The Loan Analyst completes the required reports and records. He or she provides high-level assistance to commercial loan officers, senior loan committee and other loan analysts. The Loan Analyst takes ownership of work completed and reviews for errors prior to sending out the final product. He or she anticipates the needs of others in all work performed, including providing the proper analysis per type of loan and providing organized and easy-to-follow paperwork and reports to others.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED required
4–5 years' experience in commercial lending or financial statement review
Knowledge of general loan documentation
Accurate and attentive to detail
Well organized
Good typing skills
Willing and able to help others
Able to use a computer, adding machine, copy machine, and basic business equipment
Able to get along well with coworkers
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications
Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of loan analysis functions
Gathers and analyzes financial data for commercial loans including, but not limited to, preparing cash flow analysis, financial statement spreads and agricultural budgets and reconciliations
Assists lending officers in preparation of credit memorandums for presentation to the Senior Loan Committee
Reviews senior Loan Committee loan submissions to assess risk. Reviews loan terms and pricing structure and makes recommendations for modifications or changes according to lending guidelines and or guidance from the Vice President Commercial Credit Administrator, Executive Vice President Chief Credit Officer or the Senior Loan Committee
Maintains a database of all loans analyzed, including any recommendations for changes to current risk rating, if applicable
Studies economic trends in the banking industry in order to predict the probable success of new customers
Conducts collateral analysis in order to determine risk involved with loans
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with area personnel and with management
Assists and supports commercial lending personnel as needed
May periodically develop and conduct loan officer training regarding cash flow analysis, loan pricing and related information as needed
Assists in the preparation of Senior Loan Committee reports. May periodically participate in weekly Senior Loan Committee meetings.
Maintains a database of all loans analyzed, including any recommendations for changes
Maintains and projects the Bank's professional reputation
Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
Attends meetings as required
Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times
Completes special projects as assigned
