About Us

Sprout Reading Intervention provides personalized, in-home reading support for elementary-aged students (ages 5–10) in Orange County. We specialize in explicit phonics instruction to build foundational reading skills, boost confidence, and help students become joyful, independent readers.

Position: Reading Intervention Specialist (In-Home)


Responsibilities
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments to determine each student’s reading level and instructional needs
  • Design and deliver individualized, data-driven reading intervention sessions using explicit phonics instruction
  • Adapt instruction to support a variety of learning styles and developmental levels
  • Travel to students’ homes within Orange County (we match you with families in your area)
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with students and their families
  • Track student progress and communicate results regularly with families
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to share strategies and continuously grow as a teacher

    Requirements
    • Valid teaching credential
    • Experience teaching reading, ideally with a phonics-based approach
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Reliable transportation
    • Availability for in-home sessions (weekday afternoons or evenings)
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with structured literacy or explicit phonics instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, etc.)
    • Special education background is a plus, but not required
    Compensation

    Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications. Opportunities to grow your caseload and increase earnings over time.
